LETTING GO

Writer's picture: Flo JayFlo Jay

This is a rather sensitive topic as the hurts of the pasts are hard to let go off and I personally am still on this journey so walk with me. Be it abuse, the loss of a loved one, injustice, etc, we have to let them go eventually. "How? " you may ask , well its easier said than done , i know , I've been there. As a Christian, holding onto these hurts derail our image in Christ. Christ cares about everything and anything that we are about, and anything and everything about us. Now you may feel like "I'mma move past the pain" yet when someone else goes through a similar experience you either become so emotional or you coil back in. To overcome the hurt , anger , regret , give it all to God. Let Him heal you , that's all He asks of you. He knows how deeply you've been hurt , how angry you get , so why not just do as 1 Peter 5 : 7 says " cast all your burdens unto Him because He cares for you." That's the only way you'll break free from the burden of the hurt, anger and regret. you'll feel it here and there because they are scars, but it won't have the crippling power of you , rather it will make you stronger an appreciative of how far you've come.

Surround yourself with people who are spiritually mature , those who can help you pray when overwhelmed by the hurts. Make meditating on the word, praying and listening to worship songs a habit. Always remember, "the Lord is willing and just to forgive those who confess their sins to Him ." So take that shot, you've got nothing to lose, God loves you so much and wants to be near you.
